Hi Tea Friends!
My advent calendar is looking sparse now with most of the goodies already revealed.
What is for day 18?
Swampy super-greens + spirulina with a twist of lime + lavender.
Ingredients: Japanese matcha green tea, spirulina, nettle, natural lime & pear flavouring granules, lavender.
This smells subtle but green tea like. Sweet grass with a hint of toasted flowers.
Steeping Parameters: Whisk two scoops with 100ml of 80C water. Top with hot water.
I will be using the mini Matcha whisk that came with the kit.
No foam really to speak of but it smells very sweet and limey. Like a posh cordial.
The flavour is mild but pleasant. Smooth grass with sweet like and sour lavender that’s perhaps a little soapy but not too bad, and a very sweet after taste that lingers. It’s an interesting combination and I find it odd in a delightful way.
I’ve been sipping wondering what it reminds me of, I think it’s the hard boiled lime sweets you can get. It’s that sort of lime flavour.
This was tastier than I expected.
Join me tomorrow for another quick Matcha review.
Happy Steeping!
