Welcome to day 16!
Again a day late but it’s better late than never.
Apple and pears is a juicy, fruity matcha made in heaven!
Ingredients: Japanese matcha green tea, beetroot, dehydrated apple powder (preservative sulphur dioxide), natural flavouring granules.
Opening the tin I can note smelling juicy, sweet fruit that is very much apples and pears, with a sour, green tea hint behind it.
Steeping Parameters: Whisk two scoops with 100ml of 80C water. Top with hot water.
I will be using the mini Matcha whisk that came with the kit.
Look at that foam! It went browner a colour than I expected.
As soon as the water hit the bowl I could smell sweet, juicy fruit. It was strong enough to be mistaken for fruit juice!
Flavour is sweet but with a sourness that becomes bitter before leading to the dry, pure Matcha after taste. The Matcha is grassy with some creaminess which works well with the sweet fruit. A combination of sweet and sour.
I actually really like this blend. If you like fruit and you like Matcha then it’s a win. I even like that you can taste both and neither flavour dominates. I can even overlook the bitterness and dryness, they don’t last for long anyway.
More catch up tea reviews on the way.
